About Us

The idea was conceived during the pandemic by two collectors with a combined collecting span of 45 years. The pandemic and the social distancing highlighted that remote auctions could be successful, especially if internal shipping was available, we are aiming to provide a smooth reliable service whilst maintaining a high level of detail to ensure items are authenticated, described accurately with high resolution photographs and multiple photos where necessary to ensure the buyer has confidence they are bidding as if they were viewing the item in person, as collectors ourselves we take a strong view against fakes and forgeries.

I’ve been collecting most of my life with a particular emphasis on local Kent items. I’ve a wide-ranging interest in all things Southern, collecting almost anything from ephemera, works plates, lamps to totems. I’ve many years of hands-on experience of buying and selling, both at stalls held at railwayana events to the auction scene. I’m well known and active in the railwayana community, particularly online, being a member and admin /moderator of a few of the well-known railwayana groups. I also have a wide group of, knowledgeable friends and acquaintances, experts in their own fields, whom we all share information, as part of our research. This also extends outside of the railwayana arena into the general antique scene, particularly into GPO telephones where I have a further interest.

In partnership with my wife, we run a successful small antiques unit in Kent, which has been trading for about ten years. l was one of the early adopters to eBay in 2000 and have been trading there ever since.

I have always been around railwayana due to my parent’s collecting items of local interest to Holbeach and often walking dismantled railways although it wasn’t till around 2012, I started collecting personally. My main area of collecting is the Lincolnshire and western section of Midland & Great Northern line, my collection ranges from ephemera, cash bags, lamps, seatback plates and signage. I do like to take keen interest in the items background and history, especially seeing photos of items in situ. One of the reasons for wanting to get involved in auctions for me is my love of seeing items brought to light after spending many years hidden away in sheds and even allotments. Over the years I have handled many different items both genuine, reproduction or outright fakes in all categories of railwayana, like other collectors I will always raise any fakes discovered within the collecting community to ensure we all help each other.
