71 Worksplate steam, GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY BUILDERS GORTON WORKS 1914 MANCHESTER. From a GCR Class 1A 4-6-0, known as the Glenalmond Class, 9 were built in this year. They became the London & North Eastern Railway B8 class 5439 to 49 and 5279, in 1946 they were numbered 1350 to 58. All were scrapped by 1949. Face repainted and reverse lightly cleaned, cast brass. 207 Target, Southern Railway, WEST DULWICH, from the south London area station near Herne Hill, on the Chatham main line. This is the only known example. It has been subject to a superb professional restoration, followng some fire damage, in the area around the T of West, underneath the U/L, between W/I and through the C. Displayed on a new backboard, for rigidity, with correct pattern screws and washers. This could be the only chance to get a target from this station. 33 x 13 inches. A pre-restoration photo is shown. 272 Flame cut from 31303, in a wooden frame. New as D5836, this locomotive went into service in April 1962, and was renumbered to 31303 in March 1974. Whilst it was later renumbered 31458 and 31558. this panel is clearly evident on the loco, and it is believe that the area was cut out and replaced due to the obvious rust wastage. Allocations included Sheffield Darnall, Wath, Thornaby and Tinsley. Withdrawn in January 1996, cut up in 2005 by Ron Hull, Rotherham. Original condition, framed. 37 x 31 inches.
